Capella University Student Named Program Manager for the Joint Staff Training Program at the Pentagon
Minneaoplis, MN (PRWeb) February 4, 2007 -- Carla Chladek has been named Program Manager for the Joint Staff Training Program at the Pentagon, where she is responsible for training of the Joint Staff, including curriculum design, instruction, and creating a vision for future training. Chladek, who began in her new role at the Pentagon on Jan. 1, 2007, is also pursuing a master's degree in education from Capella University, an accredited, fully online university. Nearly 85 percent of Capella students are pursuing master's and PhD degrees.
The Joint Staff consists of about 2,000 military members who support the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Joint Staff Training Program trained approximately 800 people last year.
"In my new job, I am charged with ensuring that all of the training needs for the Joint Staff are met. I'm exhausted, but I love it," Chladek said.
Chladek, who earned her first master's degree from Capella in June 2005 in training and performance improvement, is currently pursuing a second master's degree from Capella in adult and post secondary education.
"When I took a look at my salary, from the time I graduated from Capella, I have seen a 40 percent increase in my salary in just one year," she said.
More than 1,000 educators have chosen Capella to achieve their master's or doctoral degrees.
A resident of Dumfries, Virginia, Chladek served in the Army Reserves for nine years.
