Registration Begins for Summer College Courses at Boston University Summer Term 2007
Boston, MA (PRWEB) March 7, 2007 -- Registration is now open for college summer programs at Boston University Summer Term 2007. Students may now register online for summer college courses quickly and easily. An extensive selection of undergraduate and graduate summer courses and special college programs are available during two six-week sessions: Summer 1 (May 22- June 29) and Summer 2 (July 2-August 10).
Summer Term offers more than 600 summer college courses through numerous Boston University Schools and Colleges, including the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Communication, the School of Education, the College of Engineering, the College of Fine Arts, the School of Hospitality Administration, the School of Management, Metropolitan College, Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, the School of Social Work, and the School of Theology.
In addition to the wide variety of course subjects, Summer Term features a diverse array of special academic programs available exclusively during the summer. These summer programs introduce students to new topics, reinforce practical skills, or provide intensive training in a particular area. For instance, students can get to know Boston inside-out through the Boston Studies program, or develop essential business and accounting skills in a series of Business for Non-Business Majors courses. There are over eleven foreign languages available to study, making Summer Term's language offerings among the most extensive in the United States. Workshops such as the eleven-week Screenwriting Institute or the Visiting Filmmaker Workshop provide opportunities to get hands-on experience studying alongside master practitioners. Summer Term features music courses that range from explorations of music genres or history, to applied music and music education--as well as two levels of Orff Schulwerk Teacher Training. For those who are unable to attend classes on campus at Boston University, Summer Term also offers distance education courses that can be completed entirely online, such as Exploring Philosophy through Film; The Biology of Food; The Meaning of America; China, the Emerging Superpower; Education Policy in International Perspective; Software for the Curriculum; and Arts Criticism: From the Old Media to the New, amongst others.
Visiting students can pair specialized coursework with professional experience in the Summer Study Internship Program, which provides a choice of seven tracks of study. For each track, students enroll in two Summer 1 courses, and then engage in an internship and an internship course during Summer 2, leading to twelve Boston University credits and invaluable career experience.
Summer Term offers a wide range of opportunities for high school students in topics such as mass communication, mathematics, music, theatre, and visual arts--as well as programs for academically motivated students, such as High School Honors and Summer Challenge.
With Summer Term's open enrollment, students need only register in order to experience a challenging and exciting summer in Boston.
