Lance Armstrong Foundation Sponsored by Randford University
Washington, DC (PRWEB) June 11, 2007 -- Randford University announced today the start of special programs to support the LiveStrong charity efforts. The university will contribute a portion of new student tuition to support the ongoing mission to inspire and empower people affected by cancer. A program offering free college courses will also be offered across multiple subjects.
"We are privileged to support Lance with such an important cause," said Randford University's admissions director. "Not only are we behind the effort monetarily, but we are also developing free online courses for those who may be unable to attend conventional classes."
Randford University has an aggressive schedule for creating these free online courses and plans to add several each month. "Portable education is the theme behind our online coursework," said Randford's spokesman. "Cancer victims and those afflicted with other diseases cannot always attend college in the conventional manner. This is a tool that will allow continued education and enhance the lives of many. College credits can be earned through these online courses as well as recognition for life experience or skills learned throughout their career."
The course list includes topics within business, technology, health, science and the arts. Self contained classes and online weekly lessons are planned to start this month. The school is soliciting feedback in order to offer the most desired coursework. Full descriptions and sign-up details are available on the schools website at http://www.randford.org

Good Parenting Advice - Are You Giving Your Child The Edge At School?
Today the pressure to succeed at school begins even earlier than ever. Children in kindergarten and first grade are held to a standard of success that their parents never had to worry about. While in the past those first few years of schooling were pressure free and simply intended to introduce children to formal education, today children are tested on their knowledge and ability within the first weeks of kindergarten and that testing continues throughout the rest of their public school education. This places an enormous pressure on young children and yet many parents are not doing everything they can to give their child the edge and help them succeed at school. Giving your child the edge does not mean hiring a tutor, buying an expensive ed...
