High Quality Public Affairs T.V. and Radio Programming Available from the Massachusetts School of Law
Andover, MA (PRWEB) July 1, 2007 -- The Massachusetts School of Law has added a new public affairs program to its already extensive lineup of high quality radio and television programs. The new show, titled, "What the Media Doesn't Tell You," began May 12 and is hosted by MSLAW Dean and Cofounder Lawrence Velvel. "The show aims to generate discussion on vital issues not receiving the coverage they deserve, explains why the media does what it does, and the ramifications for American democracy," Velvel said. Topics to date have included, Could 9/11 Have Been Foreseen?, The Price of Gasoline, The New York Times and the NSA Case, and Why We Have Such Poor Quality People as Politicians.
In addition to affiliate U.S. AM and FM radio stations that will air the program, the MSLAW discussion show can also be heard via the World Radio Network. WRN broadcasts on Sirius Satellite Radio in the U.S. and Canada on Channel 140, SKY Digital Channel 122 in the U.K. and Ireland, via podcasts, and via the "On the Media" streaming audio channel of live365.com.
The podcast URL for What the Media Doesn't Tell You is www.velvelonmedia.libsyn.com. The podcast URL for all other programs is www.mslaw.libsyn.com. Previous installments of the television programs are available on Google Video.
Over the past 12 years, MSLAW's television broadcasts have compiled 220 awards including a coveted Grace Allen Award for general talk show excellence and two Clarion Awards. Among its awards are Clarions' for "Bullying" (2005)and "Women and Sports"(2003).
A non-profit law school founded in 1988 with an enrollment of 620 predominantly working-class students, MSLAW produces its two, hour-long weekly television programs at substantial cost to itself and with no commercial sponsors. For more information on the school visit www.mslaw.edu.
Some 20-million viewers weekly have access to its Comcast broadcasts, including some in cities as far away as in the Bahamas, California, and Hawaii. Every Sunday morning, Comcast Network distributes either MSLAW's "Educational Forum" or "Books of Our Time" at 9 a.m. throughout New England. And on the first two Sundays of the month, Comcast distributes the shows as far South as Washington, D.C.
Besides the Clarion and Allen awards, MSLAW's television productions have won 49 Communicator awards; 12 Davey Awards; 12 MarCom Awards; 68 Telly Awards; 51 Videographer Awards; and one New England Women in Cable and Telecommunication Award, among others.
It is believed there is no law school in the nation that produces anything comparable to the radio and TV broadcasts emanating from MSLAW, broadcasts that are being picked up nationally and globally and that have received as many awards for professional excellence.
