First Online Horse Race Handicapping College Opens
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) September 14, 2007 -- Under the banner of Diamond Eagle Handicapping, Professional Handicapper and Track Announcer Greg "Boomer" Wry and a number of other professionals in the horse racing industry have opened the first online horse race handicapping college.
"It's a way to give back in a meaningful way," says Greg Wry, author and the new Dean of Horse Race Handicapping College dot com. "I've been raking in profits from the race tracks for over 30 years and every day I see people losing mortgage money trying to figure out the races."
Some people think it's a matter of just picking up the Daily Racing Form and look at the Beyer Speed Figures (Andrew Beyer, author and columnist for The Washington Post) and start picking winners. It's clearly much more complicated than that. Many believe that playing the ponies is little more than gambling on the lottery or throwing money at the casinos. But the fact is that at least 2% of the regulars consistently go home with a lot more than they pay out according to IRS withholding statistics.
In a recent "Track Talk" interview with Cable One Media, Greg Wry gets all kinds of accolades from the regulars at the race track. He says that picking winners is just a small part of the equation. One of his books is exclusively about wagering strategies that make good fiscal sense based on solid money management techniques for your budget.
According to professional handicapper Craig Lanham, betting for Win, Place and Show alone is pure suicide when it comes to horse racing. Consistently winning relies on the intelligent use of the exotic wagers like Exactas, Trifectas and Superfectas; and often multi-race exotics such as the bigger Pick 4 and Pick 6 pools offer the best values.
Horse Race Handicapping College online offers a unique twist to all the Picks Services that just throw the old "bet on number so-and-so at whatever track today." The college has a complete curriculum of webinars that teach the step by step particulars to getting consistent results.
Joanne Meyers, a janitor from Seattle, Washington followed the course outline and even took the full day seminar offered by www.HorseRaceHandicappingCollege.com and built a five figure betting account in six weeks. Members of the college recently watched her follow the posted play tutorials using the resulting picks to hit for $3,700 on a single play at Philadelphia Park. Later that same day another member followed the Dean's process and hit the final Del Mar Pick 6 for a total of over $60,000 in payoffs.
A review of the protected members area inside the website indicates the new college is also a professional picks service. Administrators were asked, "Isn't that a little self serving?" Not at all, it's the product of webinar teaching and a direct monetary benefit to the students was the collective response. "Plus" says Dean Wry "We guarantee the results. None of the picks services provide any kind of guarantee; Horse Race Handicapping College is the only service standing behind professional tutorials and the resulting selections."
Dean Wry says that handicapping systems don't work. The technical administrator for the new college, Dark Star, relates that more than 130 factors and a half dozen levels of analysis goes into the creation of successful selections. This data is then boiled down to from six to ten final selections from active tracks around the U.S. on a daily basis. With constantly changing track conditions, the new synthetic track surfaces, and a whole host of dynamic variables, most racing systems are virtually obsolete before they are published.
Diamond Eagle Handicapping CEO, Lyle Tingley says, "The Masters Level Program was created for PROs who want daily action and have a desire to learn the finer techniques to increasing account balances at a faster rate of return." Full day crash courses in handicapping through online webinars will start in October.
Making these picks available publicly for a fee enables the college to be self funding without the need for grants. For the more casual bettors, Daily and Weekend Combo packages are soon to be available for the general public without having to pay monthly tuition costs.
Fortune 500 investigations analyst Dr. Robert Miller recently reviewed the members area of Horse Race Handicapping College. He had this to say: "Although the opportunity to learn from professional handicappers is extraordinary in the horse racing industry, the idea of offering exotic wagering picks as a product of the curriculum is innovative and the concept of a guarantee of satisfaction backed by a 100% refund speaks volumes about the credibility of this institution."
