Long Island Native amberRose on Catz Entertainment is Destined to go Back to School with Hit Music Station 106.1 BLI and over 2000 Youth at the Kids I
Farmingdale, NY (PRWEB) November 30, 2007 -- Long Island native and ASCAP singer/songwriter amberRose has lots to celebrate these days with a hot new single, "Destiny" and a label/management deal with indie Catz Entertainment. As if that is not enough, hot off of her smashing performance at the Billboard Dance Music Summit, and DJ Times International DJ Expo, amberRose heads back to school where she will perform for over 2000 Long Island middle school students during the Kids In Action Youth Conference at Farmingdale University sponsored by Action Long Island, a group of Long Island business leaders and Long Islands' Hit Music Station 106.1 BLI on Friday, November 30th at 9:00 am. Motivational speaker Bobby Petrocelli is the event keynote.
amberRose says, "This is incredible. It is such an honor to be a part of the Kids In Action Youth Conference. The 2000 students from all over Long Island in attendance are rewarded for either being leaders in their schools, or attend as part of their schools incentive program, to inspire future leaders. Music is such a common denominator no matter what your age, ethnicity or what part of the country you call home and combining learning with music is fun for everyone involved. There is so much pressure in middle school, I remember it all too well and the Kids In Action organization fills a much needed void for pre-teens and teens. Being a part of this program is close to my heart! This is an event for Long Island by Long Islanders. It's fantastic!" Youth will be welcomed by 106.1 BLI on air personalities and after the amberRose mini-concert students will be treated to an interactive seminar with motivational speaker, Bobby Petrocelli who will discuss the art of making good decisions.
And there is more. Each school participated in an essay contest and the winning schools will be announced and awarded certificates. According to Catherine R. Laporte of Catz Entertainment, "This is our third year with Kids In Action Youth Conference. It is a great way for both educators and students to interact with each other and learn valuable skills. Radio station 106.1 BLI and amberRose is simply an extra treat! Not only will students leave Farmingdale University inspired and go back to their respective schools to share their experiences but they also take home a workbook from the Derek Jeter Foundation, 'Derek Jeter's All Star Manual' as a reminder that when you make good choices, every is a star! What's more, one lucky student leader will have an opportunity to share the energy and excitement of the day with their school when one student will win a 'Free' amberRose concert which includes her energetic dancers and a 'Careers In Music' seminar which underscores the vast number of potential jobs in the music industry for accountants, publicists, engineers, business managers and the like."
The Kids In Action Youth Conference will take place in the Nold Hall Gymnasium. Farmingdale University is located at 2350 Broadhollow Road, but Nord Hall can be found on Melville Road off of Route 110/Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale, New York on Long Island. Advance registration is required. For more information regarding Kids In Action Youth Conference call, (631) 425-2700 or log onto www.ourkidsinaction.org.
