Robert B. Plybon, CLU®, ChFC®, Elected Chairman of The American College Board of Trustees
Bryn Mawr, PA (PRWEB) February 26, 2008 -- The American College announced today the election of Robert B. Plybon, CLU®, ChFC®, as Chairman of the institution's Board of Trustees. Plybon is President of Plybon and Associates Inc. in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Sievert, retired President of the New York Life Insurance Company and past Chairman of The American College Board of Trustees. "He is the ultimate advocate for the client and professionalism in all forms," adds Sievert.
As Chairman, Plybon will preside at all the meetings of The American College's Board of Trustees. The Board has oversight responsibility for affairs of The College, including the institution's management and for formulating and determining institutional policies.

Plybon began his career in the insurance industry in 1972, as a representative of the Home Life Insurance Company. Assuming the mantle of leadership at Plybon and Associates, a family owned business for more than 50 years, Bob has established a reputation for providing professional guidance with unsurpassed client loyalty.
He has been a qualifying and life member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) since 1977, as well as past President, and speaker at numerous organizational events. Plybon is also a member of the Golden Key Society at The American College, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, and an inductee into the Home Life Insurance Company's Hall of Fame.
As the past Chairman of the Board of the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE), Plybon helped the non-profit organization dedicate time to addressing the public's growing need for information and education about life, health, disability, and long term care insurance. He is also a past Trustee of the Life Underwriter Training Counsel (LUTC) and has dedicated his time to the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) as its past President.
Plybon earned his BS in Business Administration from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and went on to earn his Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation in 1975, and his Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation in 1982 from The American College. Plybon has also earned The John Newton Russell Award, which is considered by many as the highest honor in the insurance industry.
