Non Profit to Raffle a New 2008 Smart ForTwo to Keep Lowell, MA Kids in School
Lowell, MA (PRWEB) July 7, 2008 -- ONE Lowell, a Lowell based Massachusetts non profit, will hold a $20 raffle of a new 2008 Smart ForTwo Car to support its Lowell based anti-truancy program. The Smart ForTwo raffle is part of a larger fundraising event this summer, taking place on August 2nd and 3rd at Cawley Stadium and aptly titled, "ONE Lowell World Cup Soccer 2008". Tickets for the event and raffle can be purchased online at http://www.onelowellsoccercup.org. This full weekend of soccer features some of New England's most highly competitive adult amateur soccer teams representing countries all around the world.
Sales for the new Smart ForTwo Car exceeded the Mercedes Benz production of 30,000 vehicles and the order process has customers in line to get one for up to one year?and that is with a required $99 deposit. ONE Lowell is betting that the popularity of soccer and the consumer intrigue with the Smart ForTwo Car will be a winning combination for its fundraiser. "We're selling only 2500 raffle tickets at $20 each to win a car that has become a hot item in America" remarked ONE Lowell's executive director, Dr. Victoria Fahlberg. "This raffle, like any, is a chance for someone to win, but when kids stay in school, we all win," she continued. The rich diversity of New England will descend upon Lowell, Massachusetts this summer for 2 days, August 2nd and 3rd, to witness a 27 game tournament that is the biggest soccer event of the Merrimack Valley at Cawley Stadium. A total of 16 highly competitive adult teams from different corners of New England will represent countries from around the world in what will be an exciting weekend of soccer. While teams will come from all over New England, so too will soccer enthusiasts and families. Event tickets are just $4.00 in advance and children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.onelowellsoccercup.org.
While soccer is the main attraction, families and children will enjoy exotic and traditional food, fun games, activities, and attractions for children. "Soccer is the most widely played and followed sport among immigrant families in Lowell and even throughout New England," says Dr. Fahlberg. The event will support the organization's anti-truancy program while celebrating the richness of cultural diversity.
