Hackney Publications Partners with SRLA to Bring the Sports Law Newsletter, Sports Litigation Alert, to College Students at Reduced Rate
AUSTIN, Texas (Business Wire EON) July 16, 2008 -- Also as part of the agreement, SRLA members, who are typically sports law professors, will gain access to the sports law newsletter and a searchable archive of cases extending back more than 5 years.
"SRLA is a tremendous organization that anyone teaching sports law should consider joining," said Holt Hackney, the editor and publisher of the Sports Litigation Alert. "It is a rapidly growing community of sports law professors, who share information about the subject as well as how best to impart that material to the college students taking their class."
In conjunction with the announcement with SRLA, Hackney said the Sports Litigation Alert web site would also start including a directory of expert witnesses, beginning with the August 1 issue.
"The expert witness directory is really a service to the hundreds of subscribers to Sports Litigation Alert that are major law firms, professional sports leagues and teams," said Hackney. "I can't tell you how many times I have been asked if I knew of an expert witness in a particular area."
With 24 issues a year, Sports Litigation Alert features the latest case summaries, articles and news briefs, all with a precise focus on the sports law industry.
Among the subject categories of case summaries and articles featured in the sports law newsletter are ADA, antitrust, assumption of risk, Constitution, contract, defamation, discrimination, employment, insurance, intellectual property, negligence, product liability and Title IX.
Sports Litigation Alert, through Hackney Publications (www.hackneypublications.com), is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association (www.sportslaw.org), National Sports Law Institute and the Sports and Recreation Law Association (http://srlaweb.org/).

Completing a Middle School Science Fair Project on Budget
Finding a good 8th grade science project can be a huge challenge to those involved in the search. Those involved would be the parents of the child or children in the 8th grade. Teachers that assign an 8th grade science project are not trying to fill a void in the curriculum, nor are they trying to make your world a blurry spin of papers due, note cards to enforce, and the hassle of keeping your child or children up to date on the different levels due in an 8th grade science project. They are not only teaching your child or children about science by use of an 8th grade science project, but also teaching them responsibility and curiosity about the world around them.

When it comes to college planning, many people know that they should invest in a 529 Plan or open a Coverdell Education Savings Account.
